These last five shows have been close to home – North Carolina!  Our first stop was the Lakeland Cultural Center in Littleton, NC.  We had three performances here and some really enthusiastic audiences.  From Littleton, we made our way to Rocky Mount, NC and the beautiful Dunn Center for the Arts.  We pulled to the loading dock where we were met by the crew, ready and able to get some 10 tons of equipment off the trailer.

Load in moved along easily…as did the rest of the day.  We were able to get the show “audience ready” in about 6 hours thanks to the guys on our crew (who are awesome) and the pre-show work done by the theatre.  When the doors opened, we had a fantastic crowd of excited people!  Thank you Sheila and Kimla for an incredible day on your stage!

And our last show in this run of performances was at the Seby Jones Performing Arts Center in Louisburg, NC.  This is an older venue and we performed here in 2004.  The show has changed considerably since our last appearance so we were all excited about bringing the new illusions to the stage.

We faced a few challenges here, mostly in the “technical department” of lights and sound.  We were able to hang all of our intelligent lighting but struggled a bit with some of the traditional fixtures of the theatre.  In the end, it all worked out and the show “looked” the way I like to see it.  And it was another very nicely mixed audience of college students, senior citizens, young adults, and families.

We are home for a couple of days.  I leave for Pittsburgh on Wednesday morning for a few meetings and a television appearance on PITTSBURGH TODAY LIVE to talk more about the Hocus Focus project.
