Once again, we were up early and on the road by 7:45am.  We had a lot of ground to cover today – Texas is a big state!  We pulled back onto I-10 West and headed for the West Texas desert.  We drove through Houston and toward San Antonio before it was time for lunch.  In the small town of Sequin, just outside San Antonio, we decided to stop for lunch at one of our favorite Texas fast-food chains – Taco Cabana!

The unmistakable giant pink sign is hard to miss along the interstate.  We pulled over (lots of big parking close by) and went in for lunch.  I called Cindy to let her know because she really loves this place.  We ordered our food and ate quickly to get back on the road.

This was Ethan’s first Taco Cabana experience…but won’t be his last.  He loves Mexican food and we stop here a lot when we’re in Texas.

Once back in the truck, we drove through San Antonio toward our evening destination – Fort Stockton, TX. If you’re looking at a map, that doesn’t seem all that far.  Trust me, it’s a long, long way!  I twittered several times during the day and was surprised at how many people responded from my FaceBook posts.  It was very cool to stay in touch with people like this on a long drive.

Many hours later, we finally arrived in Fort Stockton.  It looked like a much larger town on the map!  Not all that big.  We walked down to the local Walmart to pick up a few things and then ate at the KFC/Taco Bell just next door to the hotel.  Today, we knocked off another 641 miles from our total.
